Our Staff


Alaskan Wind Industries began with the partnership of Standard Steel, a specialty contractor for steel erection, and welding services in Nikiski Alaska. They bring over 12 years of experience with foundations, rigging, and structural erection. Standard Steel also provides the service's of tower climber, rescue climber and trainer certifications, to ensure you a safe turbine install or yearly maintenance check.

Alaskan Wind Industries offers qualified staff that have been installing successful wind turbines and solar panels for over 10 years. With our grant writers on staff, Alaskan Wind Industries can help you qualify and receive the grants and tax incentives that you deserve for helping our communities and country become more energy efficient.

Alaskan Wind Industries is working hard to be the Alaskan leader as a dealer and Installer for renewable energies that can survive in Alaska, we offer two wind units that are already deployed in some of the worlds harshest environments.

Alaskan Wind Industries is also working closely with Alaska's Utility Companies to develop a safe and headache free installation for homeowners and businesses.

AKWI team:

James Daggett - Trained Wind Turbine & Solar Coordinator/Installer

James is a born and raised Alaskan growing up in Nikiski AK. He joined Ironworkers Local 751 in 1997 and traveled the state and lower 48 working iron. Now he is the owner of Standard Steel, a steel erection company in Nikiski, that partnered up with AKWI. James has been working with cranes and heavy rigging for over 12 years and is a certified tower climber and rescue climber. He has contributed to numerous turbine installations both residential and commercial for AKWI. After completing the Northwind 100 training in Vermont James is looking forward to offering, installing and helping to maintain these proven units for businesses and small communities across Alaska.

Nadia Daggett - Trained Wind Turbine & Solar Coordinator/Installer

Nadia started working with aerodynamics in 1996 when she joined the Experimental Air Craft Association. She received training to be a glider pilot from the United States Air Force at the Academy in 1999, she went on to receive her degree in Aerospace Science and political science from USF in 2001. While at USF she helped her team beat US Navy Sailors at Annapolis and continued to win as a collegiate sailor. Nadia moved to Hawaii to continue her education in Infant Brain Development & Cognative Science and since moving to Alaska in 06 she has become a trained wind turbine installer, as well as finding time to take on the role of coordinator for the Alaskan Chapter of Women of Wind Energy and KPARE.

Erik Schreier- Trained Wind Turbine & Solar Coordinator/Installer

Erik and his wife Angie left the home they built in the high desert mountains of Colorado, where they lived a comfortable off grid lifestyle, to the salty waters off the spit in Homer Alaska. Erik has spent many years training for and building solar systems, his knowledge is invaluable to any Alaskan looking to adopt an off grid life style, or utilize grid connected wind or solar. Erik draws from his skills working as a fiber optic engineer in Europe, while there he headed up a team of personell to run senarios and prepare for Y2K. Erik brings his organizational and business experience plus his technical expertise to you the customer of AKWI. Feel free to talk hunting, fishing, and scuba with Erik, while you learn about your future renewable energy system.
